Sonnet Echo III Desktop

is a stationary - desktop - expansion system that allows you to connect up to three full-height and full-length PCIe cards (up to 30.8 cm) to any computer with a Thunderbolt 3 port. This is the fastest and most efficient solution using the full specificity of the Thunderbolt 3 port.

MacBook Pro, Mac Mini or Windows notebooks offer enough computing power for many advanced users, such as programmers and graphic designers. However, high power alone is sometimes not enough for advanced graphics or data processing. Specialized cards are also needed, often available only in the PCIe standard.

The Soncho Echo III Deskto is a desktop Thunderbolt™ 3 to PCIe expansion system that allows you to simultaneously connect three professional PCIe cards to any computer with Thunderbolt 3 ports.

Connection via Thunderbolt 3 port

Sonnet Echo III Desktop is an external expansion system with three professional PCIe cards (video capture; DSP audio; SAS or SATA 6Gb or 12Gb host bus adapter; 10Gb, 25Gb or 40Gb Ethernet; or RAID controller; etc.) connecting them with your computer using a single Thunderbolt 3 cable.

Sonnet Echo III Desktop is large enough to support almost any Thunderbolt 3-compatible card available.

With three x8 slots, the Sonnet Echo III Desktop supports PCIe 3.0, PCIe 2.0 and PCIe 1.1 cards with a full length of up to 30.8 cm and full height. The system does not support GPU cards.

The aluminum case will accommodate three single-width cards or one single-wide card plus one double-wide card.

Some specialty cards, such as HDSPe MADI FX RME, DeckLink 4K Extreme by Blackmagic Design, and Lynx AES16e 50, include a daughter card that works with the main card and provides additional external connections. Such cards are also compatible with Echo Express SE IIID

Additionally, the Echo Express SE IIID includes an auxiliary PCIe power connector, allowing you to install a card that requires additional power, such as the AJA® Kona® 5 or Blackmagic DeckLink 4K Extreme 12G, and Epoch and KRONOS SDI Bluefish444 cards.

1. Three PCIe x8 ports
2. 6-Pin power port

The fastest Thunderbolt 3 external interface available

Sonnet Echo III Desktop features a 40Gb/s Thunderbolt 3 interface, which offers twice the PCIe bandwidth of Thunderbolt 2 connectivity and also delivers up to 2,750 MB/s of bandwidth, enabling support for 4K video capture and processing cards at high frame rates . It supports 16Gb FC card and dual 10GbE ports at full performance.
