Unlike other systems, this is not an LTO DIT system or a tape product with a very limited design. SymplyDIT LTO was designed by working with media industry professionals and listening to their needs and expectations. They took what they asked for, added high-quality components, and SymplyDIT LTO was born.
Each SymplyDIT LTO system includes two Thunderbolt 3 ports for daisy chaining and fast device charging. They also include a SAS expansion port and a SAS host connectivity port in case you need to connect other SAS devices to a Thunderbolt-equipped computer or use it with a non-Thunderbolt workstation.
All SymplyDIT LTO configurations support Linear Tape File System (LTFS). It allows you to easily handle files by dragging and dropping, just like with a conventional hard drive. LTFS can reduce the need for backup or archiving software and allows users to easily exchange data using LTO cartridges or copy data to and from hard drives or SSDs.
LTO-7, LTO-8 and LTO-9 half-height (HH) drive configurations are available, and now also the latest full-height (FH) LTO-9 drive with 18TB native capacity and up to 400MB read/write speeds /p. SymplyDIT LTO is the perfect solution for offloading camera cards and SSDs.
SymplyDIT LTO includes feature-rich SymplyATOM (Advanced Tape Operations and Management) software for easy operation and maintenance. SymplyDIT LTO systems are also compatible with popular backup and archiving tools for macOS and Windows, including YoYotta LTFS, Hedge Canister, Xendata, Tiger Technology Bridge, Retrospect, and Archiware P5.

All stationary - desktop - designs with two drives from Symply are equipped with Symply CableLess technology - a unique design that allows for easy disassembly of LTO drives, making them easy to service and modernize. So you can start with one LTO drive in your desktop system and add an additional drive in seconds, without having to power down your system. The same applies to servicing. In the unlikely event of drive failure, the failed drive can be removed without having to shut down the entire system, and only the failed drive must be returned for repair. Easy.
