SymplyPro LTO XTH Desktop Thunderbolt HH is a standalone, desktop LTO tape drive connected via a Thunderbolt or SAS port. It's an affordable, eco-friendly solution that businesses can rely on for data backup and archiving. Up to two LTO drives can be installed in a single enclosure.
All SymplyPro LTO XTH Desktop Thunderbolt drives are fully compatible with Linear Tape File System (LTFS) software, which enables the familiar drag-and-drop interface, allowing users to transfer files to tape storage in the same way as conventional hard drives.
LTFS can also reduce the need for specialized backup/archiving software by allowing different users to easily exchange data across Mac, Windows and Linux operating systems.
Until now, most products used for archiving on LTO tapes came from converted, other IT systems or were structurally defective from scratch. With the introduction of SymplyPRO LTO, this has changed. SymplyPRO LTO was designed with content creators in mind. SymplyPRO LTO delivers more with a space-saving desktop device and innovative two-drive desktop systems with Symply CableLess technology that make them easy to service and upgrade.
Each SymplyPRO LTO device has a solid and stylish casing made of metal alloy. It is not only durable, but also compact and fully functional. With a quiet fan and high-quality power supply, SymplyPRO LTO is designed for years of trouble-free operation.
Desktop systems feature two Thunderbolt 3 ports for daisy-chaining and fast device charging. They also include a SAS expansion port and a SAS host connectivity port in case you need to connect other SAS devices to a Thunderbolt-equipped computer or use it with a non-Thunderbolt workstation.
All SymplyPRO LTO configurations support Linear Tape File System (LTFS). It allows you to easily handle files by dragging and dropping, just like with a conventional hard drive. LTFS can reduce the need for backup or archiving software and allows users to easily exchange data using LTO cartridges or copy data to and from hard drives or SSDs.
Available configurations will meet every need and budget, from single and dual half-height LTO-7, LTO-8 and LTO-9 drives, to the latest full-height LTO-9 drives with 18TB capacity and read/write speeds up to 400MB/ p.
While SymplyPRO LTO hardware is a step above, the included feature-rich SymplyATOM (Advanced Tape Operations and Management) software makes operation and maintenance easier. SymplyPRO LTO systems are also compatible with popular backup and archiving tools for macOS and Windows, including YoYotta LTFS, Hedge Canister, Xendata, Tiger Technology Bridge, Retrospect, and Archiware P5.
