Sonnet Echo SE I T5 is a 1-slot PCIe 4.0 expansion card system for Thunderbolt 5 80 GB/s. Sonnet Echo SE I T5 is designed for computers with a Thunderbolt 5 or USB4v2 port, allowing you to connect one full-size or half-size PCIe 4.0 card (plus an expansion card). This compact, single-slot system—compatible with Apple M-series computers, Intel Mac computers with Thunderbolt 3 ports, as well as Windows and Linux computers with Thunderbolt 5 or 4 ports or USB4 — allows you to easily connect almost any Thunderbolt-compatible PCIe card that is not a graphics card to your computer using the included Thunderbolt 5 cable.

PCIe Pro Card Expansion

Echo SE and T5 allow you to connect a PCIe Pro card—such as a video capture and playback card, audio interface, SAS, SATA, or Fibre Channel host bus adapter, 10Gb or 25Gb multi-port Ethernet card, or RAID controller—to add ports and processors that your computer lacks. By providing the installed card with up to 6000 MB/s of bidirectional PCIe bandwidth—twice that of Thunderbolt 4 or 3—you'll be able to achieve even better performance for cards with very high bandwidth requirements when connected to a computer with Thunderbolt 5 ports!

One PCIe 4.0 slot and expansion card space

The Sonnet Echo SE I T5 has an x8 PCIe 4.0 slot and supports single or dual-width PCIe cards. Double width? Examples include professional video and audio cards, such as the Blackmagic Design DeckLink 8K Pro G2, which occupy two card slots, or motherboards with attached expansion cards that use the adjacent slot for additional ports.

Power reserve

The Echo SE I T5 includes an additional PCIe power connector that allows you to use cards that require additional power, such as the AJA Kona 5, Blackmagic Decklink 4K Extreme12G and DeckLink 8K Pro G2, and Deltacast 12G/4C.

Supports almost all Thunderbolt-compatible PCIe cards, except graphics cards

Compact at just 3.4 inches wide, 11.2 inches long, and 5.8 inches high, the Echo SE I T5 supports cards up to 7.75 inches long, making it compatible with almost all Thunderbolt-compatible PCIe 4.0, 3.0, 2.0, and 1.1 cards compatible with Thunderbolt. Sonnet includes a Thunderbolt cable designed to deliver the full bandwidth and power performance of Thunderbolt 5. The cable is fully compatible with computers equipped with Thunderbolt 5, 4, and 3, as well as USB4. Also included is Sonnet's ThunderLok Thunderbolt connector lock, which prevents accidental cable disconnection.
