At the IBC 2025 trade show in Amsterdam, PROMISE Technology unveiled its new Promise Pegasus5 R12 desktop storage array. This elegant array was created for the latest Thunderbolt standard, Thunderbolt 5. Thanks to the use of the latest Thunderbolt technology, HDD and SSD NVMe drives, the array achieves transfer speeds of up to 6,000MB/s and is protected by a reliable hardware RAID system.
At next week's IBC 2025 trade show in Amsterdam, Sonnettech is set to unveil several exciting new products. Virtually all of them are designed from the ground up to support the latest Thunderbolt 5 standard. Here are some of the new products announced.
At first glance, it may seem that connecting a high-performance graphics card via an external eGPU enclosure limited to a Thunderbolt 3, Thunderbolt 4, or USB4 interface with a port bandwidth of 40 Gb/s, or approximately 5 GB/s, should result in a significant performance drop.
