We know perfectly well how good Apple processors from the M1 family are. These systems used in Apple MacBook Air, MacBook Pro and Mac mini computers, apart from their advantages, unfortunately have some limitations. One of the most visible restrictions is the ability to work only on two displays. In the case of MacBook Air and MacBook Pro laptops, this means that you can only connect one external monitor, while you can only connect two monitors to a Mac mini. Unfortunately, this amount is sometimes insufficient for smooth and comfortable operation. Newer Apple MacBook Pro and Mac Studio models no longer have this issue. Newer Apple chips, i.e. M1 Pro and M1 Max, have an increased number of simultaneously connected displays.
What should users of Apple MacBook Air and Mac mini computers with the M1 chip do? You can connect the Sonnet Display Link Dual DisplayPort or Sonnet Display Link Dual HDMI interface and enjoy three displays.
For Apple MacBook Air and Apple MacBook Pro computers, we can connect two additional monitors with a 4K resolution each, and for an Apple Mac mini computer, a third - one additional monitor - with a 4K resolution. And all this using only one USB or Thunderbolt port.
Another interesting fact is that when connecting monitors with a resolution of 1440p, the refresh rate of these displays can be as high as 144Hz. At 4K it is 60Hz
